Hospice Friendly Visitor
Bring compassion & comfort to the dying and their loved ones as a devoted Hospice Volunteer. Horizon is seeking committed individuals throughout the entire southeastern
Wisconsin region to help create a meaningful, beautiful hospice experience.
After receiving the necessary skills and knowledge to confidently serve, you will be offered the opportunity to visit patients in their homes. Your purpose will be to provide companionship and/or respite care for a minimum of 2 hours each week. All volunteer / patient matches are based on proximity, personality, and availability.
Hospice Volunteers continue to feel a sense of fulfillment knowing they are a part of a dynamic team of individuals who care about their community and the mission of hospice. If you feel drawn to give of yourself in a purposeful way, we welcome you to our growing team!
A general timeline for volunteers to start serving after the death of a loved one is twelve months for hospice organizations nationwide; however, knowing that grief is unique to each individual, if you believe you are able to keep the focus of this fragile process on those we are fortunate to serve with an open mind and listening ears, please reach out to us to serve! We need your compassion.
