Services:
Personal Care Workers Personal Care Workers ("PCWs") are individuals trained to provide personal care for Medicaid patients. The personal care classification of worker was established by the State of Wisconsin in the late 1980s at the request of the disabled population. The training the PCWs receive is slightly different than other providers of personal care. (Personal care for all other patients, funded by Medicare or insurance, is provided by Home Health Aides.)
Horizon Home Care hires and trains PCWs for specific patients. This is the only program Horizon operates where a family member or friend may be hired, trained, and allowed to provide care giving services. This program operates successfully with family member trained caregivers.
If you are interested in learning more about working as a PCW, contact our Human Resources Department, either at Brown Deer or Hartford: 414-365-8300/262-673-8400. For information about admission as a patient, contact our Intake Department at (414) 365-8300 or on line in the "Self Register" section.
